“The Canyon Motel is a must for families!”
Port Huron

My husband and I stayed in the smallest railcar, and it was very cozy. The only problem we encountered was that there is nowhere to hang or store clothes. Other than that, it was a great experience; the staff is soo friendly, the rooms are spotless, and the price is right. If I had kids with me we would have stayed in the Caboose. Grand Canyon Park is a nice ride up north, perhaps an hour or less, and Sedona is about 45 minutes to the south. Williams is a nice base camp. Lots of good restaurants (Try Pancho McGillicutty's for Dinner and the Pine Shores Inn for breakfast) but stay away from Cruiser's Cafe. Yuck! Flies everywhere and the burgers suck!

“Different Experience”
Phoenix, Arizona

Spending the night in a Rail Car with a child who loves trains is an experience that will not soon be forgotten. The Web site pictures are current and show the property as we found it. We found the facility to be clean and well kept, the staff was very helpful. THere was plenty of space for kids to play. Over all it was a great stay.

“Great RV & Motel Combo”
Phoenix, AZ

We belong to a group of Vintage Airstream Trailerists and typically camp without hook-ups but this site had full hookups and was very nice. It was an easy bike ride from the quaint town of Williams, Az and about an hour from the wonderful Grand Canyon, South Entrance. The only drawback to the campground was the unfinished restrooms. We were hoping they would be done by the holiday weekend and consequently were left to utilize a small half bath in the pool house. Full hook-ups, the friendliness of the staff and nearness to town made up for the bathroom situation. I would recommend this campground as Excellent once the bathrooms and laundry facilities are finished. They seemed very family friendly and welcomed leashed dogs. Not a lot of late night partying, which was great. They have great train cars that had been converted into rental rooms as well as rooms with a bath as you first drive in - we peeked into the rooms and they were old fashioned but very adequate. Prices ranged from $40 low season to $80 high season. Sites were around $34 per night with all hook-ups including cable and wireless. All in all, a fun place that seemed great for a family reunion type event.

“Fun Hotel”

We stayed in Caboose #1, it was a lot of fun with our boys that are 7, 6, 4 and 5 months. Don’t get me wrong, it was REALLY cramped, but it was worth it. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful and they have a lil store for drinks and snacks. It was neat to stay there, cause how many times can you say you’ve stayed overnight in a caboose. If you are a large family like us, go there knowing it is cramped and if you can stand it, try it out!

“Returning to nature and the simpler time in our lives”
Phoenix, Arizona

For a property approaching 200 reviews, something has DEFINITELY got everybody talking about The Canyon Motel & RV Park! Sure there are a few negative reviews, but I'll say this in defense of Kevin and Shirley, the owners. They are THE friendliest people you'll ever meet and the entire staff goes out of their way to try to make your accommodations as comfortable as possible.
Please take your time and visit their website, <www.TheCanyonMotel.com>, to truly appreciate the one-of-a-kind experience they're offering you. If you do plan on staying with them, please remember to check your four-star hotel expectations at the Welcome mat. Because even though everything may not seem perfect to you in your room, go outside, close your eyes, and take a deep breath. Exhale and slowly open your eyes. Admire your surroundings because Mother Nature is at her finest. Enjoy it. This city boy did.
Embrace the entire experience. This is life the way it should be, unencumbered and uncomplicated.
